MEET JENN

A former Division I athlete, professional basketball player, and dedicated advocate for athlete mental health, Jenn Mathurin has built a career at the intersection of sports, wellness, and leadership.

Born and raised in Montreal with proud Haitian roots, Jenn’s basketball journey began at Champlain College and led her to NC State University, where she played in the prestigious Atlantic Coast Conference (ACC) on a full scholarship. She excelled both on and off the court, graduating Magna Cum Laude with a degree in Social Work and earning the 2017 ACC Postgraduate Scholarship Award—a distinction given to just 11 athletes in the conference.

After college, Jenn pursued a professional basketball career overseas, playing in Luxembourg, Finland, and Australia. A major Achilles injury could have ended her path, but instead, it fueled her passion for athlete wellness. She returned to NC State for a Master’s in Social Work, focusing on sports and mental health.

Her expertise led her to Bishop’s University, where she served as a Counselor, Wellness Coach, and Associate Head Coach for the Women’s Basketball Team. Today, Jenn continues to make an impact as the Business Manager for NBA player Bennedict Mathurin, guiding athletes through their professional journeys.

WHAT DO SPORTS MEAN TO JENN?

"Sports are the universal language of determination, unity, and human potential. They teach us that with dedication, teamwork, and resilience, we can achieve greatness—on and off the court."
